On October 11, around 9 PM, a 13-year-old girl from Eedu village, Karkala taluk, was taken from her home by Shaik Mukthar, a 52-year-old man from Hosmar, Eedu village, while her parents were away for work. The girl’s mother later filed a complaint with the Uppinangadi police station, alleging that her daughter was abducted without their knowledge. The complaint led to the registration of a case, which has been transferred to Karkala police station. Shaik Mukthar had earlier filed a complaint with the police, stating that he was assaulted by a group of people who intercepted his car while he was driving the girl. The police have already arrested five people – Dhanush, Dinesh, Poornaksha B, Suraj, and Ranjith Bhandari – in connection with the assault on Shaik Mukthar. The Uppinangady police registered the case based on the girl’s mother’s complaint, and an investigation is underway. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of children in the region. The police are investigating the matter and are working to ensure the girl’s safe return. The case is being closely monitored by the authorities, and further details are awaited.
