A restructuring exercise unfolded in Pandeshwar village on Wednesday as the BJP reorganised its power centres within the Kundapur Assembly constituency. The meeting, held at Shivakripa Sabhagraha in Sastana, saw the election of new presidents and secretaries for the local shakti kendras.
BJP constituency president Suresh Shetty Gopadi, who chaired the session, urged the newly elected team to work on strengthening the party's presence in Pandeshwar. He indicated that membership drives and the appointment of page leaders for each shakti kendra would be taken up in the coming days.
Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi addressed the workers, stressing that the party's real strength lies in its grassroots network. 'If the booth wins, everything is won,' he said, calling for committees that include youth, women and senior citizens at every polling station. He advised leaders to respond quickly to local grievances to build public trust and urged them to use social media for party outreach.
Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivasa Pujari, speaking during the introductory session, said the benefits of central government schemes must reach every eligible beneficiary. He asked party workers to begin preparations for the 2029 elections now.
The event was attended by former BJP president Shankar Ankadakatte, mandal general secretaries Satish Pujari Vakwadi and Sudhir KS, Kota Maha Shakti Kendra president Suresh Kunder, general secretary Ajit Shetty Kottadi, backward classes state vice president Irodi Vithala Poojary, district BJP vice president Jyoti Uday Pujari, and former Pandeshwar Shakti Kendra president Suresh.
