On Thursday, State Health and Family Welfare and DK District In-charge Minister U.T. Khader emphasized the significance of lifestyle in preventing diseases, particularly cancer, while launching the ‘Arive Jiva – Sivyantu’ cancer awareness campaign in Sulya. The campaign, organized by Rotary Club Sulya and Sulya Taluk Working Journalists Association, aims to create a cancer-free society. Minister Khader noted that building a healthy society begins with the children of today, which is why the sale of junk food is prohibited in school premises. He advised parents to be aware of the food their children consume, as food plays a crucial role in maintaining health. Khader also stressed that awareness is key to preventing major diseases and encouraged such campaigns to reach every household. The event, held at Rotary Community Bhavan, was attended by prominent guests including MLA Bhagirathi Murulya, State Workers’ Minimum Wage Advisory Board Chairman T.M. Shaheed Tekil, and Suda Chairman K.M. Mustafa. Rotary Club President Latha Madhusudan presided over the program, while Lokesh Pelarmpady, President of Sulya Taluk Working Journalists’ Association, welcomed the guests and introduced the campaign.
