On Sunday, at the Padmavati Kalyana Mandapam of Parijata Hotel in Kundapur, Purnima, Assistant Director of Udupi District Kannada and Culture Department, emphasized the need to motivate young people to develop an interest in national music. Purnima believes that once they are introduced to this music, they will participate with enthusiasm. The occasion was the Summer Music Festival, inaugurated by Jyothi Belgi, which featured a two-hour concert by renowned artists. The festival was organized by Sangeet Bharati Trust, which has been promoting music and arts for three decades. The Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, has been supporting music, dance, folk arts, and theater activities, and registered organizations can apply for funding through the Seva Sindhu portal. The concert featured violinist Chaitali Shevalikar, Hindustani classical singer Sameer Kulkarni, tabla artist Sumit Naik, and harmonium artist Ajay Hegde, accompanied by percussionist Hiranmayi S. The event was well-received, and the guests were honored by the trustees of Sangeet Bharati Trust, including Narayan K, A.S.N. Hebbar, and Subraya Halambi.
