On June 30, in Mysore, Dr. T.N. Nagaratna was presented with the 2026 Sediyapu Award by the National Poet Govinda Pai Research Center of Udupi and Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The award ceremony took place at Dr. Nagaratna’s residence. Prof. T.V. Venkatachal Shastri, a renowned scholar, spoke about the challenges in editing and research in Kannada, citing a lack of interest and limited job opportunities. He praised Dr. Nagaratna’s contributions to the field, particularly in Dasa literature. Dr. Nagaratna has followed in the footsteps of Prof. G. Varadaraja Raya, a pioneer in research and editing of Dasa literature. The award recipient expressed her gratitude, stating that such recognitions are a joy in life. The Sediyapu Award is given in memory of the late Sediyapu Krishnabhatta, and Dr. Nagaratna considered it a significant honor. The event was attended by dignitaries including Dr. Padekallu Vishnu Bhatt, Muliya Raghavaiah, and Prof. H.M. Nagaraja Rao. Dr. B. Jagadish Shetty, administrator of the Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai Research Center, delivered the introductory speech, while Dr. Arun Kumar S.R. narrated the program and offered thanks.
