Mangaluru is witnessing a significant initiative to support higher education for economically backward students from the Muslim community. The Muslim Education Foundation (MEF) has announced its third phase of financial assistance, inviting applications from eligible students. The foundation will provide financial aid for various courses, including MBBS, BDS, BHMS, Engineering, MBA, M.Com, MA, M.Sc, Degree, Paramedical, D.Ed, B.Ed, and M.Ed.
To be eligible, students must be eligible to receive Zakat and have a Jamaat recommendation letter. The selection process will prioritize students who have scored over 90% in their Pre-University Course and have studied in government or MEIF institutions. Applicants should not be recipients of scholarships, free seats, or sponsorships from other organizations. The scheme applies to students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Hassan, and Uttara Kannada districts.
The financial aid will cover only a part of the college fee payment. Interested students can submit their applications until August 5, 2026. MEIF President Moosabba P Beary Jokatte announced the initiative, encouraging eligible students to apply and obtain the necessary details.
