On Saturday, Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation as Union Education Minister, a move that Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya claims was offered from the outset of the student protests. Vijayvargiya, speaking to reporters in Indore on Sunday, praised Pradhan for his dedication to his responsibilities and his willingness to resign if the party deemed it necessary. The BJP leader criticized the Congress party, stating that they had no role in the student agitation and were merely attempting to capitalize on the situation. Vijayvargiya alleged that the Opposition had become demoralized after the Bengal elections and found new hope in the student movement. He said that Pradhan had told the party leadership that he was willing to resign from the very first day of the protests, but was asked to wait until a decision could be made after due discussion. When the situation changed, Pradhan submitted his resignation within minutes, according to Vijayvargiya. The Madhya Pradesh Minister also claimed that Pradhan’s resignation had thwarted the plans of foreign elements seeking to create unrest in India. Pradhan’s resignation came amid nationwide protests demanding action against paper leaks and exam irregularities. In his resignation letter, Pradhan reaffirmed his commitment to youth and education, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support. Pradhan stated that he had dedicated himself to the cause of students, teachers, and educational reform for over four decades and believed that a robust education system was essential for a strong nation.
