On May 15, at the Indian Cultural Centre in Doha, Qatar, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu was unanimously elected as the 15th President of Karnataka Sangha Qatar during the organization’s Annual General Body Meeting. A native of Byndoor in Kundapura Taluk, Karnataka, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu has a strong background in social and community service, having served as Vice President of the Indian Cultural Centre, member of the Advisory Council of the Indian Sports Centre, and Joint Secretary of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum. The new Managing Committee, which will serve for the 2026-2028 term, includes Mr. Anil Bhasagi as Vice President, Mr. Sujith Kumar Hosdurga as General Secretary, and Mr. Manjoth Suresh as Treasurer, among others. In his inaugural address, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu expressed his gratitude to the members for their support and affirmed the committee’s commitment to enhancing the organization’s cultural, social, and benevolent activities. The committee has already begun preparing for various events and community initiatives, including Labour Day and Mother’s Day celebrations, sports tournaments, and traditional festival celebrations. Mr. M. Ravi Shetty, the outgoing Chairman, acknowledged the support of all members and office bearers during his tenure and commended their collective efforts. Advisory Committee members and representatives from various Karnataka-based apex associations in Qatar also congratulated the newly elected committee and extended their best wishes for a successful term.
