Kharge Slams Modi and Trump, Accuses BJP of Looting in God's Name at Bengaluru Rally
Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump during a party event in Bengaluru on Sunday. Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of new KPCC president B.K. Hariprasad at the Palace Grounds, Kharge accused both leaders of damaging foreign policy through their close friendship. 'Modi is ruining the country while Trump is ruining the entire world,' he charged.
Kharge questioned what Modi had delivered for Karnataka and the nation, pointing to unemployment and price rises as his legacy. He warned that a major crisis awaits Modi. The Congress chief also alleged that the BJP has looted crores of rupees in the name of Lord Ram, referencing the Ayodhya Ram temple construction. He demanded an investigation into the collection of donations, including bricks, cash, and gold, during L.K. Advani's Rath Yatra. 'Looting is happening in the name of religion,' he asserted.
On the NEET exam controversy, Kharge demanded the Education Minister's resignation and called for exams to be conducted on the CET model by state governments. He argued that this would prevent injustice to hardworking students.
Emphasizing party discipline, Kharge stated that the Congress allows no personality cult, only respect for the party. He urged CM D.K. Shivakumar and new state chief Hariprasad to resolve differences internally and avoid damaging the party's image. 'Give power to real workers and recognise them,' he advised.
State in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala also spoke, warning that the BJP would scrap guarantee schemes if voted back. He accused the central government of targeting minority and OBC voters through the SIRO process.
