On Wednesday, as the Monsoon Session of Parliament resumed, Opposition parties escalated their criticism of the government, claiming it is evading responsibility and meaningful discussions on key public issues. New Delhi is the stage for this political standoff, with the Opposition seeking a debate on the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and examination irregularities. Opposition leaders, including Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, staged a protest near 7 Lok Kalyan Marg on Tuesday, highlighting the issue. According to Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat, the government consistently avoids accountability, instead engaging in a blame game. Bhagat emphasized that Parliament should facilitate meaningful discussions, allowing the government to take responsibility. The Opposition has repeatedly sought a discussion on the NEET paper leak, but their efforts have been unsuccessful. The issue affects nearly 7.5 crore people, and the Congress has consistently raised concerns. Senior Congress leader Udit Raj defended student-led protests, stating that they are driven by genuine concerns over employment and examination irregularities. Raj claimed that 95% of the students are motivated by their own future, rather than political agendas. The Opposition demands a discussion on the issue, but the government remains unresponsive.
