On a recent evening in Mumbai, the trailer for Operation Safed Sagar was unveiled, attended by a star-studded cast, including Jimmy Shergill, Siddharth, Dia Mirza, and Prajakta Koli, among others. The event was also graced by the presence of real-life characters associated with the story, such as Group Captains Amit Gupta and Alok Chaudhry, and Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa. However, it was Siddharth who stole the spotlight when he broke down in tears during the launch. The actor, who was wearing a sling, got emotional while speaking about the film and the story of Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, whose wife Alka Ahuja was also present at the event. Siddharth later explained that he had been hesitant to take on the role, as he didn’t want to do injustice to the memory of a martyr. He had a lengthy discussion with the film’s makers, including director Oni Sen and writer Abhijeet Singh Parmar, to ensure that the story was told with integrity. When asked about his hand, Siddharth joked that it was just a minor operation and that he was getting old. The event was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the Indian Air Force during the Kargil Mission, and the film’s release is highly anticipated.
