On July 20, in Mangaluru, the Indian Hajj Committee announced an extension for submitting online applications for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, now due by 11:59 PM on July 24. Sharaffussadath Adoor Ashraf Thangal, a member of the Karnataka Hajj Committee, stated that this deadline will not be extended further. The decision to extend the deadline was made in response to requests from various state and union territory Hajj committees. This move primarily benefits pilgrims from states with unfilled quotas and those awaiting passports. The application deadline is now July 24, with verification and cover generation to be completed by state and union territory Hajj committees by July 25. The digital Qurra, or online lottery selection, will take place on July 30 at 11:00 AM at the Hajj Committee office in Mumbai, and can be watched live on the official website. Selected and waitlisted applicants will be notified via the website and SMS. Provisionally selected pilgrims must deposit Rs. 1,52,300 by August 10, as per the order by Shanawaz C, CEO of the Hajj Committee of India.
