On July 20, Father Muller College in Mangaluru inaugurated its new academic year for 2026–2027, welcoming students to its 20th batch of Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, seventh batch of M.Sc. Audiology and M.Sc. Speech-Language Pathology, and first batch of Ph.D. programme in Speech-Language Pathology. The ceremony, held at the Decennial Memorial Hall, Knowledge Centre, marked the beginning of the Vicennial Opening Year, celebrating 20 years of excellence in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. Prof. Cynthia Santhmayor, Principal, greeted the newly admitted students and their families, while Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, formally inaugurated the Vicennial Opening Year. The chief guest, Dr. Ronald Acquin Nazareth, Registrar of St. Aloysius Deemed to be University, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of compassion, perseverance, integrity, and professional etiquette. He encouraged students to use their knowledge with empathy and commitment to society, recalling the life of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who valued his contributions to helping children affected by polio. The function was presided over by Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, who welcomed students to the Father Muller family and highlighted the institution’s growth over the past two decades. The programme was compered by Ms. Melicia Shainy D’Souza, and Mr. Pancham Ponnana proposed the vote of thanks.
