On Thursday, around 5:45 pm, a young woman named Lavanya, 22, was brutally attacked and murdered by a man named Chetan at the B.C. Road KSRTC bus station. The incident occurred when Lavanya was on her way home from work. Chetan, who is a distant relative of Lavanya, had been allegedly harassing her and had been pressuring her to be in a relationship with him, which she had rejected. Following the rejection, Chetan attacked Lavanya with a sharp weapon, inflicting a deep wound on the back of her head. The police have filed a case and are investigating the matter. Lavanya’s body was taken to the Bantwal Government Hospital for post-mortem. The accused, Chetan, is currently on the run.
