West Bengal: Huge fire in Howrah market, hundreds of shops gutted
Kolkata: A massive fire accident occurred in the Howrah market of West Bengal and hundreds of shops were gutted in the incident on Saturday.
A fire broke out in the market late at night. Like this, the fire has spread to the whole market like one shop to another. As a result, valuable food items and other items were burnt.
Officials who reached the spot as soon as the news came to know, are carrying out operations to douse the fire with 18 fire engines.
Talking about the incident, Divisional Fire Officer Ranjan Kumar Ghosh said that as soon as we got information about the incident, fire engines were sent to the spot. Our personnel are engaged in firefighting operations.
Locals said hundreds of shops were damaged due to the fire incident.
