Manipur violence: Supreme Court orders no party to give hate speech, dismisses Kuki tribe’s plea

New Delhi: Regarding the Manipur violence, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud has advised all parties to maintain a sense of balance and refrain from giving any hate speech. At the same time, the court said that it will pressurize the Center and the state of Manipur to make preparations to protect the lives of the people.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition by the Manipur Tribal Forum seeking protection of the Kuki tribe by the Indian Army, according to news agency ANI. The Supreme Court said that it would not be appropriate for the court to issue such directions to the army and paramilitary forces.
