A young man reached the hospital with a knife stuck in his stomach, the doctors saved his life by getting up from sleep
The knife got stuck in the stomach of a youth who was injured in a knife incident in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. He was admitted to the district hospital in similar condition. The condition of the young man was serious in this incident which took place late at night. In such a situation, the doctors of the Medical College decided to operate the injured youth in the night itself. This was the first time in the history of Khandwa that the operation theater of the medical college was opened at 3 o’clock in the night.
This operation lasted for 3 hours, due to which the young man’s life was saved. This happened for the first time in Khandwa district that the entire team of doctors, waking up from sleep at 3 am, performed a successful operation. Otherwise the seriously injured were referred from Khandwa to Indore.
Last Sunday-Monday night, a young man was stabbed by the accused in a dispute in three culverts area of Khandwa. The injured had reached the district hospital around 2 pm with a knife stuck in his stomach. Seeing the condition of the injured, the doctors opened the OT for the first time in the night and performed the operation. The injured admitted in ICU is now out of danger.
Dr. Arun Pargi and Dr. Rinku Yadav of the surgery department who performed the operation told that Nakul’s father Vijay Tidke (20) resident of Chidiya Maidan had a knife stuck in his stomach. The injured was conscious, but his BP was coming 80-50. The condition was not such that he could be referred to Indore. That’s why we decided to do the operation at night only. After which the operation was started with the help of Anesthesiologist Dr. Shikha Aggarwal and Dr. Suraj Jain of Surgery Department, SR Dr. Vishal Bansal along with the nursing staff. He told that we took measures to stop the bleeding of the injured. The operation went on from 3 in the night to 6 in the morning. Now his condition is improving.
Dean of the Medical College, Dr. Anant Pawar told that the team of the surgery department opened the OT in the emergency at night in view of the wound and condition of the knife stuck in the stomach of the injured. Due to this the life of the patient was saved.
