India, China, US increase nuclear weapons stockpile globally: SIPRI report
New Delhi, June 13: A year has passed since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. As a result, an atmosphere of war has been created around the world. Due to this, the stockpile of nuclear weapons is continuously increasing not only in Asian countries but also in various countries of the whole world, according to a report.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has released a report containing information on nuclear weapons possessed by various countries. In the report, the factors that have increased the stockpile and current stockpiles of various countries including India, Pakistan and China have been mentioned. The report mentions that China is one of the few countries in the world that is rapidly developing nuclear weapons.
Since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war, in the last one year, China has been trying to become more powerful by increasing the quantity of weapons. India and Pakistan have also increased the number of nuclear weapons. Through this, these countries are getting ready to face any situation.
China is ahead in having nuclear weapons
Out of a total of 86 new weapons, Pakistan has five, China has about 60, Russia has 12 nuclear weapons and North Korea has 5 nuclear weapons. But the released SIPRI report stated that India has increased the minimum total of four nuclear weapons.
If we look at the stockpile of nuclear weapons globally, the number of nuclear weapons is increasing not only in Asia but also in other countries of the world. This stockpile of nuclear weapons is a deadly weapon for mankind, and this is a dangerous period.
The report revealed that the nine nuclear powers – Britain, China, France, India, Israel, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia and the US – have a total of 12,512 nuclear weapons.
A collection of weapons like those who have fallen
Only a few years ago, various countries were stubbornly hoarding nuclear weapons out of self-interest. In the following period, this stock had a brake on the momentum. Now again there has been an increase in the pace of stockpiling of nuclear weapons by various countries globally.
The number of nuclear weapons in Russia’s possession has increased from 4,477 to 4,489 in the past year since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. America (US) is second in this list with 3,708 nuclear weapons at present. A year ago China had 350 nuclear weapons, now it has 410.
Still our country India has increased the number of nuclear weapons to 164. Pakistan has a total of 6 more nuclear weapons than us. According to the report, 90 percent of the world’s nuclear weapons are in possession of Russia and the United States.
