Odisha train disaster: 19 Bihar passengers missing, 50 dead – Disaster Management Department

Patna: At least 19 people from Bihar who were aboard the Coromandel Express are still missing after 288 people died in a horrific train accident in Odisha’s Balasore district on June 2, the state Disaster Management Department (DMD) said.
The 19 passengers from Bihar who went missing include four from Madhubani district, two from Darbhanga district, two from Muzaffarpur, two from East Champaran district, two from Samastipur, one from Sitamarhi, one from Patna and one from Gaya, one from Purnia, one from Sheikhpura, one from Siwan and one from Begusarai. This is stated in the announcement issued by the Disaster Management Department.
“At least 50 people from different districts of Bihar were killed and 43 injured in the Odisha train accident,” the release said.

Out of the 50 people who died in train accidents in Bihar, nine were from Muzaffarpur district, Madhubani (6), Bhagalpur (7), East Champaran (5), Purnia (2), West Champaran (3), Nawada (2), Darbanga (2), Jamui ( 2), Samastipur (3), Banka (1), Bevguisarai (1), Gaya (1), Khagaria (3), Sharsha (1), Sitamarhi (1) and one from Munger district, the release said.
