Virat Kohli led India to the final of an ICC trophy for the first time since Dhoni in the 2017 Champions Trophy. But India lost the match against Pakistan. India reached the maiden World Test Championship final under Virat in 2021. But in the final match against New Zealand, Team India lost and returned empty handed.
