Mangalore police conduct a quick checking In Mangalore streets

 

Mangalore: Following increasing traffic congestion as a result of the lockdown exemption in Mangalore a  fast check was done by the police, led by senior officers near the city’s clock tower.

The lockdown in the Dakshina Kannada district was extended from Monday to 1 p.m., during which time traffic in the city surged. In light of this, Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar led an inspection of the vehicles near the clock tower. Fines will be imposed on individuals who unduly roam the car. The tinting in the cars for example, were removed and the drivers were fined.

 

During the inspection of the vehicle, more than 10 cars were stopped by the police, and the tint was removed. On the other hand, a Pondicherry registered luxury car has arrived and the owner has been charged with Rupees 500 fine and police leave the car without removing the tint. The Dakshina Kannada District had allowed the purchase of essential commodities from June 21 to 7 am. However, but the city police  started to fined the car owners  by 12.15 pm and the public was outraged by this action

 


The elderly couple was waiting for a rickshaw for about 30 minutes whileteh police  were checking the vehicle near Clock Tower. The couple was desperate because there was no rickshaw. The police commissioner has conveyed the humanity by arranging the a police vehicle for the couples till their home: A rushed family was waiting for a rickshaw to go home. But some rickshaws were not willing to go on the road that the family said. On this occasion the Commissioner of Police called the rickshaw and sent the family away.


Lockdown exemption is not for unnecessary Travelling : ​​Commissioner

The government has issued a strict directive that vehicles should not be rushed unnecessarily during the lockdown exemption period. It is being inspected by officers and staff. Mobile squads are also being checking for unwanted traffic on the inner roads.

More than 22,000 mask violations have been registered in the Mangalore Commissionerate after Corona 2nd wave lockdown. Over 300 cases have been registered under the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act and  said 3000 vehicles were confiscated Police Commissioner Shashikumar
