A 106-year-old woman, Kamli Bai, received her first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Bhopal on Saturday.

A 106-year-old woman was administered her first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

The vaccine was administered by an inoculation facility in Berasia area near Bhopal, PTI reported.

A resident of Bilkho village, Kamli Bai said that the vaccine may help tide over the pandemic.

According to Kamli Bai’s Aadhaar card, she was born on January 1, 1915.

Last week, a 118-year-old woman (according to her Aadhaar card) named Tulsabai was administered the Covid-19 vaccine in Khimlasa area of Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh reported 4,986 Covid-19 cases on Saturday, the state’s biggest single-day spike, which pushed its infection count to 3,32,206, PTI reported.

The toll rose to 4,160 with 24 deaths being recorded in the last 24 hours. Madhya Pradesh has so far recorded 36,695 cases and 174 deaths in April.
